making a recycled jean diaper!

I ran across a mom who made a recycled jean diaper and I wanted to try one so bad! they were the cutest little NB diapers I have ever seen! I searched and searched for instructions and never found one! so I went ahead and gave it a go! here is the way I did it!!

First, I found old jeans who were not being used! I cut the leg at the knee.

Second, you need to cut them open at the thick seam.

Third, after cutting the leg open lay it open to trace pattern.

Fourth, Lay your pattern and trace it on the denim with a crayon or marker.
(I used the DDU pattern)

Last cut the traced pattern out and sew with a flannel inner or what ever you choose to use next to baby skin!! You can make this into a fitted or a pocket fitted! remember you will need a cover when using for long time.. like car rides or naps! You can add snaps or velcro..

Making my own fleece covers!!

My husband and I decided to cloth diaper our LO due in January. For the first weeks we will be using prefolds and fleece covers! I have made over 20 diaper covers using the baa baa baby fleece covers. I used double layers of anti-pill fleece (from Joanns fabrics) and snaps! It is a very easy pattern to use. I tested them out making my 2 year old some night time diapers. The results.... AMAZING!!! No leaks! yes the insert (Microfiber towels or prefolds) were soaked in the morning but she was dried and the bed was dried! I am so glad it worked out now I know my baby boy can use them!!
